I stand corrected. I hear that one year (last year?) there was a horse at St. Michael's and All Angels for the Feast of St. Francis and the Blessing of the Animals. It was a miniature horse of some sort. This year, there were no horses at the 10:00 AM mass. I didn't see any turtles or rabbits, guinea pigs or mice, birds or snakes. Dogs outnumbered cats about ten to one. (I knew I liked this congregation!) ;)
Most unusual pet: one cat-shaped bedroom slipper.
Second most unusual pet: one snail, in the same bowl as one fish. I couldn't see whether it was a betta or a goldfish.I'm sorry to say that my photos aren't great. I don't know whether this is because I didn't set the camera to flash regardless of how much light was available, or because the battery was running low. Everything's dark and grainy.
I managed to get a few Tuffy pictures in, mostly before and after the Mass itself. It's hard to take good pictures in the middle of a church service, of a dog two feet away! So I staged a few things at the end. Tuffy was extremely well-behaved, considering her skittishness around humans and animals she doesn't know. She sniffed quite a few people, almost let several people pet her, and didn't bark once.
